Deepak Chopra has coined the term synchrodestiny, implying that our lives are not haphazard or chance occurrences, but that somehow our destiny is linked to others, and each meeting with another is synchronised in a very special and meaningful way.


I was very much aware of this during those weeks before Christmas. Firstly there was the 40th reunion of my medical school class. I arrived early for the get-together breakfast and watched with awe as each member of my class walked up the garden path.

OF WARRIORS AND MEN
I am astonished at the bravery of our dog Saffron. If a another dog approaches her in a menacing way she will often just sit down and wait while the other dog does his interview and then when that is over she will jump up and be ready to play. But when those two Alsatians came charging at her with fangs bare and barking loudly she planted her four paws apart and stood her ground letting them clearly know that this would not be a walk over. I loved the way she turned to me as if to say ‘just watch me now’. A true warrior if I ever saw one.
